JoAnne Chartrand-Benz, SEP Bio, Background, and Training:

JoAnne is a European-trained Psycho-Spiritual, Somatic Psychology Educator and has been in private practice since 1980. She is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) with a specialty in trauma. JoAnne, along with Dyrian, has been a co-trainer for the Relational Constellations Learning Program since 1999.

Her experience and training is varied and comprehensive. Relational aspects, along with the psychodynamics of the ego development, are an important part of her work. Her specialty is in Somatically-Based, Transpersonal and Relational Psychology.

Since 1992, JoAnne has been a student of the Diamond Approach by A.H. Almaas, a psycho-spiritual approach, that combines western depth psychology with eastern traditions. She integrates the concepts and insights of that method into her therapeutic approach.

She has also been trained in EMDR. She has done some attachment therapy training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) with Diana Fosha PsyD. Her specialty in trauma also has a focus on developmental and attachment disruptions. She is an attachment-based practitioner. Click here for more information about her approach.

JoAnne's training is in Relational Body-Oriented Psychology, Psychodynamics, Depth Psychology, Object Relations, Self Psychology, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Imagery, Neo-Reichian Body-Centered Techniques, Bio-Dynamic Somatic Psychology, Voice Dialogue, Bonding Therapy, Breathwork, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experience Trauma Work from Peter Levine, Sandtray Therapy, the Formative Somatic Approach of Stanley Keleman, BioSynthesis from David Boadella, Tantra, Transpersonal Psychology, Mindfulness, Hakomi, Neuroscience, Hospice Care, Death & Bereavement, Dreamwork, Pre- and Peri-Natal Issues and Relational Constellations.

She practices and co-leads training in a particular style of family constellations work that she and Dyrian have created and call Relational Constellations. This approach is influenced by Somatic Psychology, Somatic Experiencing Trauma Work, Internal Family Systems, as well as the Diamond Heart Approach. It is a phenomenological approach that also works with trans-generational systemic issues.

She is co-director and co-trainer of the Relational Constellation Institute of CA.

Both Dyrian and JoAnne are available for private sessions.
